Indiantown

With two multimillion dollar electrical power plants located northwest of town as a base, Indiantown, Florida has the potential to become a major industrial center in Martin County.

At present, Indiantown is predominantly agricultural and citrus-producing. This quiet, rural town is known for its strong spirit of community. But for the vagaries of the economy in the late '30s, lndiantown might have become he seat of Martin County government, and its center of commerce.

That was the destiny envisaged by S. Warfield Davies, a banker from Baltimore whose Seaboard railway ran through Indiantown. While vestiges of Warfield's influence remain, the Seminole Inn perhaps, the most obvious reminder.
